DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ENTERING THAILAND (UPDATED 3 MAY 2022)

  1. Travellers under no-quarantine scheme
    • Thailand Pass QR Code (register here: https://tp.consular.go.th/)
    • Certificate of vaccination (see requirements below)
    • Travellers who are not vaccinated/fully vaccinated must present an RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before travelling,  including unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated children aged 6 - 17 who travel with unvaccinated / not fully vaccinated parents (children aged under 6 do not have to attach the test result). Please be advised that this does not apply to children aged under 18 who travel with fully vaccinated parents who will be automatically granted the same entry scheme as their parents'.; test result must be uploaded when the traveller is registering for Thailand Pass; post-registration upload is not possible. Fully vaccinated travellers do not need to have an RT-PCR test result. 
    • Health insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
  2. Travellers under quarantine scheme (for travellers who are not vaccinated/fully vaccinated and who cannot obtain an RT-PCR test within 72 hours before travelilng or simply wish to be quarantined)
    • Thailand Pass QR Code (register here: https://tp.consular.go.th/)
    • Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation for 5 days (including airport pick-up and 1 RT-PCR test to be taken on Day 4-5)
    • Health insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
  3. Other documents: passport, visa (for non-Thais), etc.
  4. Travellers whose Thailand Pass QR Codes have already been issued (under Test & Go scheme) can travel with the old QR Code (for the new no-quarantine scheme). Refund requests are subject to the respective hotels' policies and should be submitted to the hotels directly.

THAILAND'S ENTRY REGULATIONS FROM 1 MAY 2022

  • All travellers must complete pre-travel registration via "Thailand Pass" (http://tp.consular.go.th)
    • Approval process will take up to 48 hours (2 days) 
    • Successful registrants will receive a QR Code sent via email. They must present this QR Code for boarding and entering Thailand.
    • While registering, the traveller must choose the right scheme for entering Thailand between "No quarantine" and "Quarantine". If a wrong scheme has been chosen, the traveller must submit a new registration (see conditions of the entry schemes below)
    • Once Thailand Pass QR Code has been issued and if the traveller has to change their travel dates, the old QR Code is still valid 7 days before and after the original arrival date. Traveller may scan the QR Code using a mobile phone to check the validity period of the QR Code.
  • No quarantine scheme
    • Available for those fully vaccinated at least 14 days before travelling (no need to present an RT-PCR test result) For vaccination requirements, please check below.
    • Also availabel for those who are not vaccinated/fully vaccinated, but can present an RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before travelling (test result must be uploaded when registering for Thailand Pass).
    • Non-Thai travellers must have health insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand. Travellers may purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria here: http://covid19.tgia.org/
    • No need to provide hotel booking confirmation. No need to undergo RT-PCR test post-arrival.
    • Travellers are asked, on vuluntary basis, to take an antigen self-test while in Thailand and report the result via an online platform set by the Royal Thai Government.
  • Quarantine scheme
    • Available for those who are not vaccinated/fully vaccinated and cannot undergo an RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before traveling or simply wish to be quarantined.
    • Must have Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation for 5 days (including airport pick-up and 1 RT-PCR test to be taken on Day 4-5).
    • Non-Thai travellers must also have health insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand. Travellers may purchase their health insurance which meets Thailand's entry criteria here: http://covid19.tgia.org/
    • Must undergo one RT-PCR test post-arrival on Day 4-5.
  • Travelers whose Thailand Pass have already been issued can travel with the issued QR Code and do not need to register for new Thailand Pass (unless the original QR Code was issued for a quarantine scheme and the traveller now wishes to enter a no-quarantine scheme, in which case they must submit a new registration).

THAILAND'S VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

At present, Thailand does not set an expiry date for vaccination; as long as the last dose was administered at least 14 days before departure, the certificate of vaccination can be used for entering Thailand regardless of whether the vaccines were administered a year or two years ago. A booster shot is not required.

To be considered "fully vaccinated", the travellers must have a certificate of vaccination that meets the following criteria:

  1. Certificate of Vaccination must be issued by a government authority, containing personal information of the travellers and information of the vaccine (name, batch number, dates). 
  2. Accepted vaccinesSinovac (2 doses, at least 2 weeks apart) / AstraZeneca (2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart) / Johnson & Johnson (1 dose) / Pfizer (2 doses, at least 3 weeks apart) / Moderna (2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart) / Sinopharm (2 doses, at least 3 weeks apart) / Sputnik V (2 doses, at least 3 weeks apart) / Covaxin (2 doses, at least 4 weeks apart) / Novavax/Covavax (2 doses, at least 3 weeks apart) / Medigen (2 doses, at least 4 weeks) / TURKOVAC / ERUCOV-VAC (2 does, at least 4 weeks apart) 
  3. The last dose must be administered at least 14 days before travelling.
  4. If the duration between two doses are less than that set by the manufacturer, the certificate of vaccination may be rejected.
  5. Combination of different vaccines is accepted provided that the period between the 1st and 2nd dose was in accordance with the period set by the manufacture of the first dose.
  6. Those infected and have recovered may present certificate of recovery together with evidence of 1 dose of vaccination administered after infectionWithout any vaccination, the person will not be considered as fully vaccinated, even if they have certificate of recovery. 
  7. Children under the age of 18 do not need a certificate of vaccination if (1) they are travelling with fully vaccinated parents and (2) their Thailand Pass registration was submitted as part of their parents' registration (for the no-quarantine scheme).
  8. Children from the age of 5 but less than 18travelling without parents, will be considered "fully vaccinated" if they can present a certificate of vaccination showing 1 dose of vaccination administered at least 14 days before travelling.

THAILAND PASS REGISTRATION PROCEDURES (HTTPS://TP.CONSULAR.GO.TH/)

  1. General Information
    • Approval proceed will take up to 48 hours (2 days)
    • Children under 18 travelling with parents must register for Thailand Pass QR Code together with their parents/guardians and not separately.
    • The system only accepts JPG, JPEG and PNG files.
    • Thailand Pass QR Code will be sent to the travellers via email once it is approved. Please print out the QR Code and/or save it on a mobile device ready to be inspected by airlines staff and Thai immigration officers.
  2. Documents needed for Thailand Pass registration
    • Copy of passport
    • Certificate of vaccination
      • a booster shot is NOT required
      • Those infected and recovered must either provide evidence of all required doses of vaccination OR one dose of vaccination administered *after* the infection.
    • Health insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only) 
    • RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before travelling (only for those who are not vaccinated/fully vaccinated and wish to enter no-quarantine scheme)
      • The test result must be uploaded while registering for Thailand Pass. Post-registration upload is not possible. Please not that approval process takes no longer than 48 hours.
    • Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation for 5 days (including airport pick-up and 1 RT-PCR test to be taken on Day 4-5) (only for those who are not vaccinated/fully vaccinated and cannot undergo an RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before traveling or simply wish to be quarantined) 
  3. Problems with Thailand Pass Registration? Try the following
    • Use non-hotmail/outlook email to register; the system does not yet support registrations with hotmail or outlook accounts.
    • Upload only JPG, JPEG or PNG files; PDF files are not supported.
    • Make sure that all files uploaded can be read clearly. Files that cannot be read will be rejected.
    • Make sure that you upload evidence of BOTH doses (1/2 & 2/2) of vaccination (except Johnson & Johnson). Registration with only 2nd dose will be rejected.
    • Make sure that you upload evidence of hotel reservation (with AQ or SHA+ hotels) that includes airport pick-up and RT-PCR test (please see hotel requirements below).

 INTERNATIONAL TRANSIT/TRANSFER PASSENGERS AT SUVARNABHUMI OR DON-MUEANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

International transit/transfer passengers at Suvarnabhumi and Don-Mueang International Airportsdo not need to register for Thailand Pass if they meet the following conditions

  1. Lay-over time does not exceeding 24 hours
  2. Luggage has been checked through, i.e. travellers will not leave transit area
  3. Must have travel health insurance with a coverage of no less than 10,000 USD. This requirement (insurance) does not apply to Thai travellers.
  4. Negative RT-PCR test result issued no more than 72 hours before departure, OR certificate of vaccination showing that the last dose was administered no less than 14 days before the date of departure.
  5. booking in the same ticket/ cannot leave transit area / final destination is outside of Thailand)

Transit/transfer passengers who need to leave the transit area, through the Thai immigration, either to recheck-in their luggage or to stopover in Bangkok (however long that stopover may be), must register for Thailand Pass QR Code, choosing the 'no quarantine' scheme.
