    On 10 May 2022 from 14.00 - 17.00 hrs., the Royal Thai Embassy in Helsinki organized “A Guide to Thai Gastronomy Workshop” for ASEAN Ambassadors based in Helsinki, Finland at the Royal Thai Residence.

    The Thai Embassy showcased the arts of Thai cooking class with 3 different dishes of Thai cuisine, which were (1) Golden bags with crab fillings, (2) Edible flower spring rolls and (3) Mango sticky rice. The cooking techniques and how to prepare these three delectable dishes workshop were demonstrated by Miss Sunantha Junthong, the Chef of the Royal Thai Residence.

    On this occasion, H.E. Ms. Chavanart Thangsumphant, Ambassador of Thailand to Finland made a remark that although Thai food is famous all over the world, experimenting how to create Thai dish will deepen the true knowledge and understanding of Thai cuisine and its culture which shows Thai philosophy and its way of life including its local wisdom. Despite its unique identity, Thai food somehow shares some similarities with other ASEAN foods. This workshop therefore reflects the harmony and enhance the relationships among ASEAN Embassies in Finland resulting in a synergy of ASEAN strong Soft Power.
