Ambassador of Thailand met with the President of Chitalada Finland Thai Boxing Gym,

                            On 31 May 2017, His Excellency Mr. Nopporn Adchariyavanich, Ambassador of Thailand to Finland met with Mr. Pertti Nurmi, President of Chitalada Finland Thai Boxing Gym, at the Royal Thai Embassy, to discuss cooperation in promoting “Muay Thai” (Thai Boxing) in Finland.  Ambassador Adchariyavanich also invited Chitalada Finland to arrange “Muay Thai” performances at the Thailand Festival in Finland 2017 on 8-9 July 2017 at the Helsinki Central Railway Station Square (Rautatientori)

Mr. Nurmi is among one of the pioneers who introduced “Muay Thai” to Finland in 1990s. “Muay Thai” has since then become famous and popular among the Finns. He was also the former president of Finnish Muaythai Association (Suomen Muaythai Liitto: SMTL). The Finnish “Muay Thai” Championship competition in Finland has been organized every year. This year’s “Muay Thai” League will be held on 7-9 July 2017 in Tampere. Mr. Nurmi is pleased to cooperate with the Embassy to promote “Muay Thai” in Finland. He will bring his “Muay Thai” boxers to perform on stage at the Thailand Festival in Finland on 8-9 July 2017
