On 22 October 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Helsinki held a Buddhist merit-making ceremony and a public sandalwood flower offering ceremony, featuring a special representative sandalwood flower arrangement for the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother, at the Embassy premises.

On this occasion, the Embassy invited Phra Khru Sri Yanawithet, Abbot of Wat Buddharam, together with members of the Buddhist monastic community, to chant Buddhist prayers and perform religious rites in dedication of royal merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.

The Embassy will subsequently send the representative sandalwood flower arrangement to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thailand, where it will be collected for presentation during the Royal Cremation Ceremony of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother.
