New Visa Exemption and Visa on Arrival (VoA) to Thailand

The holders of Finnish and Estonian passports are entitled for visa exemption on arrival in Thailand and eligible to stay in the country up to 30 days
(starting from 15 September 2026).
1. Visa Exemption – Up to 30 Days
You can travel to Thailand without a visa (for tourism purposes only) for no more than 30 days.
- Foreigners entering Thailand by any means under the Visa Exemption scheme are required at the port of entry to have proof of planned travel (confirmed air, train, bus, or boat tickets) to leave Thailand within 30 days of the arrival date. Otherwise, a visa must be obtained before entering Thailand.
- For traveling to Thailand by all means (air/land/sea), Finnish and Estonian passport holders are eligible for Visa Exemption Scheme with a maximum of twice in a calendar year.
- The Tourist Visa Exemption scheme only applies to foreigners holding passports issued by the countries listed below. (Travel documents for foreigners issued by these countries are not acceptable)
The holders of ordinary passports of the following countries/territories can visit Thailand with 30 Days Visa Exemption for Tourist Purposes (as of 15 September 2026)
2. Visa on Arrival (VoA) to Thailand
Nationals of the following three countries may apply for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) at designated immigration checkpoints:
Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Serbia
Requirements
3. Visa Exemption – Up to 15 Days
Nationals of Seychelles and Mauritius are eligible for a 15-day visa exemption under the visa exemption scheme.
4. Bilateral Agreement on Visa Exemption for Ordinary Passport Holders
4.1. For Visit up to 14 Days
Nationals of Cambodia and Myanmar (international airports only) are eligible for a 14-day visa exemption under bilateral agreements.
4.2. For Visit up to 30 Days
Nationals of China, Kazakhstan, Macao, Russia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Laos, Mongolia and Timor-Leste are eligible for a 30-day visa exemption under bilateral agreements.
4.3. For Visit up to 90 Days
Nationals of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Korea and Peru are eligible for a 90-day visa exemption under bilateral agreements.
Remarks
- Travelers entering Thailand under the Tourist Visa Exemption Scheme must possess adequate cash of or equivalent to 20,000 Baht per person or 40,000 Baht per family.
- Please note that the Visa Exemption applies only to foreigners holding passports issued by the countries listed above. Other travel documents issued to foreigners by these countries are not acceptable.
- Temporary passport / provisional passports, or emergency passports issued to nationals exempt from the Visa Scheme for 30 days are accepted by the Immigration Bureau in Thailand. However, the passport must be valid for at least six months upon returning to the country of residence.
