On 11 August 2026, Mr. Worawoot Pongprapapant, Ambassador of Thailand to Helsinki, in his capacity as Chair of the ASEAN Committee in Helsinki (ACH), co-organized the ASEAN Day 2026 Commemorative Reception at the Embassy of the Philippines in Helsinki. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps from ASEAN member states, strategic and dialogue partners, and representative of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland.

On this occasion, the Ambassador of Thailand reiterated ASEAN’s commitment to strengthening its cordial relations with strategic and dialogue partners in order to promote peace and stability in the region, build economic resilience and sustainable growth, and improve the quality of life of the people. He also highlighted the partnership between ASEAN and Finland which is rooted in shared values in the promotion of education, innovation, sustainability, good governance, openness, and respect for diversity.

Following the ceremony, participants also had the opportunity to enjoy national dishes and desserts from ASEAN member states.
