TOURIST VISA

This type of visa will be issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom of Thailand for tourism purposes only.

TR Visa is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance. Travellers must enter Thailand within the said 3-month period. They will be allowed to stay in Thailand for a period of up to 60 days, counting from the date of entry. Extension is possible for another 30 days, with maximum period of stay of 90 days, counting from the date of entry. You can apply for the extension of stay for 30 days from Immigration office in Thailand.

 If the TR Visa holder breaches the entry conditions (for example, if he/she engages in work-related activities), the stay permit will be revoked and he/she will be prohibited from entering Thailand in the future.

 

Tourist VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURES

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**

  • When applying, please exercise extra caution in choosing the right TYPE OF PASSPORT. If you are not a government officer, DO NOT choose "Official/Service Passport"; instead, choose "Ordinary Passport". 
  • Once submitted, the visa application cannot be amended.
  • If there are mistakes in the application, e.g. wrong spelling of names or wrong passport numbersthe application will be rejected.
  • Applicants will be required to apply and pay again. No refund is possible
  • Applicants must ensure that all their details are correct before submitting and paying for their applications.
  • *Additional service fees for online payment may be charged by your debit/credit card providers* Please contact your card providers for more information. The Royal Thai Embassy assumes no liability for additional fees incurred by the applicants for their online payment. 
  • Please note! The Royal Thai Embassy Helsinki will process visa when an applicant is physically in Finland/Estonia.
  1. Visit https://thaievisa.go.th/
  2. Create an account
    1. Verification link will be sent via email.
    2. Your account can be used to apply for an e-Visa for yourself and also other people in your family (up to 10 applications at a time).
    3. Your account can also be used for future visa applications.
  3. Apply for a new visa
    1. Check your eligibility & choose visa category
    2. Upload biodata page of passport & a photo taken within the last 6 months (must be in JPG or .JPEG format, Size not exceeding 3 MB)
    3. Enter personal information, travel document details, address and employment information.
    4. Enter travel information
    5. Upload supporting documents
      1. A fully paid flight tickets entering and leaving Thailand within 90 days period in English or Finnish. Flight ticket to Thailand must be from Finland/Estonia or show the whole route from Finland/Estonia to Thailand.
      2. Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. accommodation booking reservation, AQ hotel reservation, invitation letters from family in Thailand
      3. Proof of finance with the sufficient amont to cover the period of stay in Thailand.
        Thus, the bank statement of the applicant showing the balance in the end of month for the last 3 months in English or Finnish. The bank statement must show account owner. In case that applicants submit the applications as a family, please provide an Extract from Population System in Finnish or English language from Notary Public. 
        **NOTE** Accepts ONLY the physical bank in Finland and Estonia
      4. Confirmation of legal residence in a country in which you are applying for the visa. (In case that you are not a national of the country in which you are applying for the visa.)
        Foreign nationals (other than Finnish/Estonian): Copy of valid residence permit in Finland/Estonia, which valid until the end of your trip.
      5.  Applicant is required to upload his/her passport pages which contain all travel records for the past 12 months (1 year) since the last international trip.
      6. Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency.
    6. Pay application fee online: 40 €.  There will be no refund if visa application is rejected, or applicants paid for multiple entry visa but only eligible to get single entry visa.  
  4. Check status
    1. You can monitor status of your application by logging into your account.
    2. You may also withdraw your application.
    3. Once approved, e-Visa will be sent to you via email. You may also download your e-Visa through your online account.
  5. The Embassy may request for additional documents to be sent via [email protected]
  6. Consular officers reserve the rights to request for additional document as deemed necessary and also reserve the right to reject any application without having to provide reason.

 

METV (Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa) is valid for 6 months. Travelers will be permitted to stay in Thailand for a period not exceeding 60 days from the date you arrive Thailand.

Required documents:

  1. A Passport or Travel Document (validity of not less than 12 months on the arrival date in Thailand and contain at least TWO completely empty visa page)
  2. Apply for E-Visa Application Platform (from 22 November 2021) at https://www.thaievisa.go.th/
  3. Visa fee 170 €. There will be no refund if visa application is rejected, or applicants paid for multiple entry visa but only eligible to get single entry visa.
  4. A recent colour passport photographs, taken within the last 6 months.
  5. A fully paid flight tickets from Finland enter to Thailand and leaving Thailand within 60 days period (first entry) in English or Finnish.
  6. Proof of accommodation in Thailand (at least for the first entry): Copy ofhotel reservation OR Copy of lease or rental agreement OR Proof of ownership house or apartment. For example: house registration document OR An original invitation letters from an invitor, copy of his/her Identity Card or passport copy signed and copy of house registration document.
  7. The bank statement in the end of each monnth with minimum balance of 6,000 euro per person in English or Finnish (at least from the last 6 months). The bank statement must show account owner and account balance. **NOTE** Accepts ONLY the physical bank in Finland and Estonia
  8. Proof of Occupation: If employed: certificate of employment indicating position in the company and monthly salary OR If self-employed: evidence of business ownership (company registration)
  9. Foreign nationals (other than Finnish): Copy of valid residence permit in Finland (valid until end of trip).

Note: The visa application can be submitted no earlier than two months before the planned trip.
