On 16 July 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Helsinki organized 'Unwind Mind & Body Day' a volunteer activity on the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King's 72nd Birthday Anniversary, at the Riistavuori Seniorkeskus in Helsinki, Finland. There were altogether two sessions with approximately 100 people attending the event including some female Ambassadors in Finland. H.E. Ms. Chavanart Thangsumphant, Ambassador of Thailand to Finland delivered the opening remarks concerning the activities i.e. Thai classical dances and Thai massage or Nuad Thai which have the common effect in the detachment from worry and thus the effective way for unwinding mind & body. In addition, the activities reflects Thai family structure in the Thai society which in general is the extended family where multiple generations live together in the same household. So Thais place a strong emphasis on respect for and taking good care of the elders and the interconnectedness of family members which later on become the norms and value of Thai society. That's why Thais always embrace everyone as if we are from the same family (full remark appeared in the last picture). Thereafter, H.E. Chavanart, on behalf of the Thai community in Finland, presented the medical equipment to Mr. Jukka Vehkaoja, the manager of a nursing home. Then, there was a Thai classical dance by the Association of Thai Home, a demonstration of Nuad Thai, Thai music, Thai food and snacks, as well as Thai herbal drinks for the elders and all participants in the nursing home.
